The Dubai Salik system, which was first implemented in July 2007, has made a substantial contribution to the city’s road network improvement. Everything you need to know about Salik in Dubai is right here.

SALIK: WHAT IS IT AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

Salik is Dubai’s computerized toll gate system. The Highways and Transport Authority (RTA) established it on July 1, 2007, to help ease traffic flow on Dubai’s key roads.

HOW TO BUY SALIK TAG ONLINE?

It’s simple to order a new Salik Dubai Tag from the comfort of your own home. The entire procedure is now paperless and takes only a few minutes.

New Salik tags can be ordered, registered, and activated via the Salik website or the Smart Salik App.

After obtaining a Salik tag from an authorized dealer or the Salik website, you’ll need to provide the following information:

  • Number of Salik Tags
  • Number of the traffic file
  • cellular phone number
  • Other information as specified in the Salik website or Smart Salik App’s terms and procedures.

DUBAI HAS HOW MANY SALIK TOLL GATES?

In Dubai, there are a total of seven Salik toll gates. They may be seen on all of Dubai’s major motorways and bridges.

DUBAI SALIK LOCATIONS

The list of Salik Dubai toll gates has been updated. Remember that the two Al Mamzar toll gates on Al Ittihad Street are treated as if they were one. You will only be charged once if you go in the same direction at the same time.

The two Al Mamzar toll gates on Al Ittihad Street are the only exception. You will only be charged once if you travel through both of these in the same direction within one hour (AED 4).

The following is a breakdown of the Dubai Salik Fees for 2021:

A new Salik Tag costs AED 100 and may be purchased at petrol stations.

Salik Tag costs AED 120 when purchased online.

If you order it online, you’ll have to pay an extra AED 20 for delivery.

Your account has a prepaid toll balance of AED 50.

HOW TO PAY THE TOLLGATE SALIK FEES?

You must register with Salik and place the Salik Tag on the front windshield of your car in order to pay the Dubai Salik toll gate fees. At these computerized gates, the Salik Tag will be scanned to deduct the toll fee.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED TO OPEN A SALIK ACCOUNT

The following documents are necessary for a new Salik Account:

  • Copies of your identifying documents
  • mulkiya, or a copy of the car registration card
  • a copy of your business licence (applicable only for cars registered under companies).

By entering in with your registration credentials on the official Dubai Salik website or via the RTA App, you can monitor and pay your Salik Account online.

HOW MANY SALIK GATES ARE ON SHEIKH ZAYED ROAD?

On the Sheikh Zayed Road, there are three toll gates.

  1. Jebal Ali
  2. Al Barsha
  3. Al Safa

IS SALIK AVAILABLE IN OTHER EMIRATES IN UAE?

The Salik toll gate system was used by just Dubai till 2019. Abu Dhabi has only recently announced that the Salik toll system will be implemented in the capital.

If you don’t want to pay the high cost of Salik in Dubai, there are plenty of other options.
